This week we were joined by 'Brash' the therapy dog. She spent the week being walked, brushed, read to and pampered by MCPA children (and some staff) as part of our wellbeing programme.
Brash is a really good listener, so she enjoyed being read stories as well as listening to some our children tell her about their days.
Our children learned about the importance of responsibility when owning a pet, such as the need to provide it with food and water. They also all remembered to wash their hands after spending time with Brash.
Research shows that spending time with a calm animal has a significant positive effect on emotional wellbeing and this was certainly the case with Brash, who was a bit of a celebrity in school too.
Maybe she'll come and visit us again one day.
