All Things Pirate

Updated: Sep 10, 2018

Ahoy, Me Hearties!

Year 2 got off to a great start this Friday 7th September by becoming pirates for the day as part of our new topic. The children received a special message in a bottle from Jim Ladd, a boy pirate who had ventured onto dryland. Sadly, someone had stolen all his family’s special belongings and needed the help of some fellow Year 2 pirates to find the missing treasure chest.

As the pirates of Year 2 ventured to our amazing Forest School, the children received a special map from Captain Power and Captain Knight, in order to help locate the treasure.

However, some pirates had to ‘walk the plank’, for disappointing their Captain by not finding the treasure in time! The pirates found the missing treasure and returned it back to Jim Ladd.

A great big ‘thank you’, to all the parents who supported this event by enabling your child to come in costume. They had a fabulous fun experience. Also, your child had been provided with a fact sheet ‘All about Pirates’. Please could you help your child by learning the facts in order to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the topic we are learning about.

Thank you for your support
