On Thursday our Y4s, joined by the GMAT safeguarding team and our safeguarding governor, Janice Hayman, took part in an afternoon workshop provided by the ‘foundation 4 peace’.
The workshops centred on how we manage emotions and resolve conflict. This session formed the first 2 of 6 lessons in the ‘Small steps’ programme, a course which is based on the Warrington bombings and funded by Manchester City Council as a response to the bombing of the Manchester Arena last year. Over the course of the programme, children will learn more about the importance of managing emotions, being tolerant and understanding of each other and living peaceful lives.
Children and staff gave fantastic feedback at the end of the session and are looking forward to completing the programme over the next half term in ‘Values’ lessons.
