41 children and 5 MCPA staff set off on Wednesday morning with high expectations and excitement towards Ghyll Head: a small Outdoor Activity centre based on the banks of the beautiful Lake Windermere. What would await them? Most children had never stayed away from home before so there were a few jangling nerves (mostly from the parents!).
As it turned out, the trip was everything we could hope for (and more). The children had the opportunity to climb up 'Gummers How' to witness breath-taking views over the surrounding hills; to set sail in canoes across Lake Windermere (and jump in if they really wanted to); to test their agility on the ropes course; to feel the exhilaration of the zip-wire; and most importantly- to feel the value of teamwork and bond with their peers in a setting outside school. An unforgettable experience!
