PRE-INSPECTION INFORMATION
HEAD TEACHER'S WELCOME
Welcome to our pre-inspection information page, the aim of this page is to make it as easy as possible for an inspector to locate all of the statutory website content. Hopefully, this will allow more time for any inspector to get to know our fantastic children, families and school.
Manchester Communication Primary Academy (MCPA) is an inclusive, nurturing school in Harpurhey, an area of significant social deprivation. Our school has a vibrant and diverse community which has high levels of international new arrivals, children with English as an Additional Language and children with Special Educational Needs. We believe that this makes the tapestry of our school richer; additional barriers to learning are not excuses, they are reasons for us to do even better.
As part of the Greater Manchester Academies Trust (GMAT), our mission is to be the agent of change in the local community. This means maximising outcomes and aspirations for our children and families through academic excellence and significant social investment.

Our curriculum intent is clear, MCPA's curriculum
-
Is rich in knowledge, which children use readily and remember for a long time.
-
Is engaging, so that children’s curiosity is sparked and they develop a thirst for learning.
-
Is brilliantly sequenced and linked, so that children’s knowledge builds and schema grow.
-
Is intelligently designed and implemented, using evidence informed practice and research to inform choices.
-
Is rooted in the six principles of nurture, so that children’s needs, both cognitive and emotional, are met, resulting in excellent behaviour for learning and life.
-
Is reading-centric, so that children read widely and often, enjoying a range of genres and authors.
-
Is inclusive of all, promoting role models and teaching an understanding of the history and beliefs of a broad cross-section of society.
-
Promotes our community qualities: Attitude, Behaviour, Courage, Determination, Enthusiasm, Friendship and Grit.
